ISO-C1 and ISO-HT Bunstock Sizing and Dimensions

ISO-HT and ISO-C1 are produced as bunstock in a continuous manufacturing process (take tour). Isocyanate, polyol, surfactants, flame retardants, and catalyst are pre-staged in tanks sized to provide in excess of 7 hours of continuous operation per run.

Bunstock production equipment can be adjusted to produce variable block dimensions depending on particular customer needs. Bun widths for a nominal 2 lb/ft2 density can vary from a trimmed 38 inches (96 cm) up to a trimmed 60 inches (1.52 m), with our standard sizes set at 48 inches (1.22 m). Bun lengths can vary from 36 inches (91.4 cm) (standard pipe chunks) up to 288 inches (7.31 m), with standard stocked sizes being the 72 (1.83 m) and 108 inches (2.74 m) lengths. The bun heights for other ISO densities will vary and bun width with typical trimmed bun heights given in the following table:

Note 1: all dimensions are given in the trimmed size. Add approximately 1.5” (3.8 cm) to 2” (5.1 cm) for actual untrimmed bun height.

Note 2: Metric dimensions above are rounded to the nearest significant digit..

This customized sizing capability can yield considerable cost savings by minimizing the need to "cut" to size - - thereby minimizing waste.

Our fabrication shop is capable of cutting sheet stock to any thickness, as thin as 0.125” (0.32 cm) thick, with +/- 0.03125” (0.078 cm) tolerances, making our cut sheet products ideal for demanding applications.

Polyiso insulation is currently being used in 60 percent of all new commercial construction applications and in 30 percent of new residential buildings due to the following advantages:

Superior energy/thermal efficiency Highly cost-effective Proven fire safety Meets the requirements of building codes Excellent water and chemical resistance Excellent dimensional stability Easy to handle, cut, and install Low life-cycle cost
