From Chilled Water Insulation to Refrigeration Insulation, Dyplast offers complete DyTherm® Phenolic pipe insulation systems for equipment operating below ambient temperatures when superior (<25/50) flame/smoke properties are required (typically in indoor air plenum applications). The actual flame spread/smoke development rating of DyTherm Phenolic is a remarkable 10/0. Such low-temperature mechanical insulation applications present special challenges due to the strong vapor drive (the tendency of water vapor to move toward the cold pipe). Phenolic insulation systems have been demonstrated as far superior to alternatives such as fiberglass, extruded polystyrene, or cellular glass mechanical insulation when <25/50 ASTM E84 criteria are specified.
Recent re-formulation of DyTherm Phenolic insulation has resulted not only in extraordinary flame spread/smoke developed results, but also has physical characteristics that mitigate any concerns over corrosion in a properly installed insulation system.
DyTherm® Phenolic pipe insulation is based on proprietary technology and is manufactured consistent with DyPlast's quality control program. DyTherm Phenolic pipe insulation also has the lowest thermal conductivity of any commonly available insulation with an inital K-factor of 0.145 Btu·in/hr·ft2·°F (provisional results) equating to an R-value of almost 7.
DyTherm Phenolic insulation is entirely CFC and HCFC–free with zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP). It has been developed to provide optimum performance with regards to insulation efficiency, fire resistance, low smoke emission, compressive strength, environment, health, safety and cost.
DyTherm Phenolic insulation is a lightweight rigid foam that is easy to transport, handle and install. Dyplast has gained a reputation for quality and consistency - - a reputation that has spread worldwide.
TEMPERATURE RANGE: DyTherm Phenolic insulation may be used for pipework and equipment operating within the process temperature range -292°F to +248°F (-180°C to +120°C).
DyTherm Phenolic insulation is available in 2.5, 3.75, 5.0, and 7.5 lb/ft3 densities, colorized respectively as gray, white, orange, and yellow, respectively.
