Dyplast Products announces its DyTherm Phenolic Insulation and DyPerm Vapor Barriers

Insulation Density

Whether the insulation is polyisocyanurate, phenolic, EPS, XPS, cellular glass, fiberglass, mineral wool, elastomeric, or so forth, densities vary across the classes as well as within the classes. Engineers, contractors, and end-users must determine the insulation characteristics they require and then insist on full disclosure from the suppliers.

For instance, different densities of insulation typically have materially different K-factors (thermal efficiencies) and compressive strengths. And weight itself, of course, can impact installation costs. Higher density insulation is often appropriate for pipe hangars or in areas where mechanical abuse is likely.

ISO-C1 is available in 2, 2.5, 4, 6, and 10 lb/ft3 densities - - making it suitable for virtually any application. Similarly, DyTherm Phenolic is available in 2.3, 3.75, 5.0, and 7.5 lb/ft3 densities.

DyTherm Phenolic insulation is available in 2.3, 3.75, 5.0, and 7.5 lb/ft3 densities.

Dyplast's Expanded Polystyrene is generally offered in 1-2 lb/ft3 densities, yet there is flexibility when required.
