Dyplast Products ISO-C1® Polyisocyanurate Rigid Foam for Pipe Insulation in LNG facilities

Numerous energy-sector articles are reporting significantly reduced energy demand caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the historic fall in oil price. As a result, Financial Investment Decisions (FID) on LNG projects are delaying decisions on dozens of proposed projects.

Ted Berglund, CEO of Dyplast Products, is highly confident that once the world returns to “normalcy” a high percentage of these LNG facilities will obtain the FIDs and be built.

Dyplast’s ISO-C1® 2# and/or 2.5# polyisocyanurate rigid foam is produced as continuous free-rise bunstock in Miami, FL and has been used on multiple LNG facilities, most recently on the Gulf Coast region including the Freeport facility in Texas. In fact, of the six export facilities in the U.S., Dyplast ISO-C1 polyiso is on three of the facilities, comprising either 100% or the majority of the rigid insulation, depending on the facility.

Dyplast’s rigid foam polyiso insulation meets ASTM C591- “Standard Specification of Unfaced Preformed Rigid Cellular Polyisocyanurate Thermal Insulation.” In addition, the ISO-C1 2.5# meets the International Committee Industrial Insulation (CINI) standard for industrial insulation. Dyplast’s polyiso has been tested by certified independent laboratories verifying all the results.

In addition, Dyplast has published 5 articles in LNG Magazine and written numerous LNG related Technical Bulletins as well as Qwik Guides, which are one page summary documents on the use and importance of polyisocyanurate mechanical pipe insulation.
